What health tests should Lab breeders do?
Short answer
The Labrador Retriever Club asks for OFA hip and elbow evaluations done at or after 24 months, an eye exam by a board-certified ophthalmologist within a year of breeding, and DNA tests for EIC and the dilute (D-locus) gene. It also highly recommends CNM, PRA-prcd and cardiac screening. Check both parents in the OFA database.
